Then came June and I travelled with my uni friends to Belgium and Ibiza as a graduation trip. I’d already been to Belgium before but we managed to get cheap Eurostar tickets and went on a mini break. As for Ibiza, I’d never visited it even though I’ve lived in Spain for most of my life. Ibiza was absolutely stunning, the beaches, the people, the food, just everything! Also, it was a great trip to take after our final year of university, we definitely did a lot of relaxing.
During the summer, I travelled quite a bit to Madrid for my best friend’s graduation and for work which was a lot of fun. I go to Madrid every year so it’s kind of like my third home (the first being Gran Canaria and the second London).
August saw me heading back to Paris and Switzerland for the second time with my family. I didn’t really like Paris but Switzerland was beautiful, I’m so glad I visited again. I also managed to go paragliding for a second time which was so much fun!
Lastly, me and my flatmate took a mini pre-Christmas break to Stockholm and later on my dad surprised me with a Christmas trip to Lisbon, which I just got back from 2 days ago. Visiting all these European cities this year reminded me of how much I love living in Europe, there’s an amazing vibe here that I don’t get anywhere else.
As for my life, I finally graduated from university this year with a 2.1 in BA Fashion Journalism. After all the hard work and breakdowns, we made it and it was worth it! It was lovely to celebrate with my friends and family and just have a chilled summer after working and studying so much the last year.
I’ve also worked at some incredible places this year and learnt so much, including Grazia, Women’s Health magazine and Fabulous magazine. I met so many lovely people in the fashion world and was grateful for the opportunity. I was also chosen to become a Boohoo student ambassador which was an incredible experience.
Apart from that, nothing much has changed, except for the fact that I cut my hair short for the first time in my life and I don’t regret it one bit. I still love my dog to bits and exercise a lot. I’m still binge watching tv shows and looking at memes all day. I’m determined to get back into the grind in 2018. I’ve enjoyed reflecting back at the year and I look forward to all the memories I’ll hopefully make next year. I hope to tell you guys some more stories this time next year!
I leave you with one of my favourite cheesy quotes about new year:
“That’s what New Year’s is all about, getting another chance. The chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what will be. So when that ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight, but all year long.”
Happy New Year everyone! Here’s to 2018.
Lots of love,
